2015 Scottish Drum Fest – 28 November

dD Drums To Host Biggest-Ever Event

dD Drums, ‘Scotland’s Funkiest Drum Shop’, has confirmed that the fourth annual Scottish Drum Festival will be happening in Falkirk, mid way (30 miles) between Edinburgh and Glasgow, on 28 November. This event, which in the past has featured such major names as Kasabian’s Ian Matthews, Steve White, Robin Guy and Damon Wilson, will have something of an international flair this year with players from Germany, Hungary, England and Scotland set to perform.

“The line-up is sensational,” said dD Drums’ David Dowell. “Top drummers Craig Blundell, Jim McDermott, Jost Nickel and Richard Spaven will each do their own special thing, then Thunder Duo – Gabor Dornyei on drums and Kornel Horvath on percussion – will introduce us to the sort of soloing and interplay that has seen them perform to packed venues and receive standing ovations across Europe, the UK, and even in America. All this plus gear displays by the likes of Roland, Meinl, Hardcase, Amedia and the newly launched British Drum Company. The great thing is that all the players and their endorsing companies were more than happy to be a part of the show. They know how important this event is to Scottish players”.

Said Dornyei, who recently presented a weekend of masterclasses at dD Drums: “It is totally brilliant that Scotland is full of drummers who support events like the Scottish Drum Fest. And with this lineup it’s going to be an amazing day.”
